Encrusted thimbles next to fruit packed with tobacco and erasers for ends marked by ink with small circles even smaller as smiley faces or individual eyes that never blink but simply clutter next to one another like lizards waiting in the forest for their picture to be taken which illuminates them all along with their hidden city of tunnels and guppy-sized codes the color of grape seeds. The thimbles rest on the floor which combines tiles with the images a child has of a cluttered, tightly woven town in Italy by the water. These tiles, squares, contain images - ships, trees, porches, water, birds, roads, shadows - all which have stories told as a whole by way of their color. |
