on the beach a couple days ago a man was kayaking, or something similar, but with his dog. the waves were huge and a lot of the time they'd make it together, but sometimes it'd be too wild a ride and the dog would leap out. a happy ol' black lab. then the guy would row back out, the dog would catch up and try to get back in eventually needing help sitting right in the front where he liked to go. at times when there weren't any waves they'd just sit there together (see photo) or paddle out further in one direction or another. i took pictures.
